Mark Watney has a problem. Six days ago, he became one of the first people to walk on the surface of Mars, but after a freak dust storm forced his crew to abandon him and evacuate the red planet, he may also become the first person to die there. Faced with slim odds, daunting challenges, and the occasional complete catastrophe, Watney has his work cut out for him if he intends to stay alive long enough for a rescue mission to find him.
