Take a tour through time with Dr. Crystal Reynolds, a local historian and expert on the achievements of people of color in Vigo County. In this Black History Month walking tour, Dr. Reynolds will be detailing the lives of Black authors who were born in or lived in Terre Haute, including Evangeline Harris, author of educational materials for African American children from the 1940s; Wiley High School graduate Dharathula “Dolly” Millender, a librarian and historian for Gary, Indiana with several published works; and Cynthia Shepard Perry, an ISU graduate and a former US ambassador who published her autobiography in 1998. 

The walking tour will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Discussion, refreshments, and hot drinks will be available after the tour until 3:00 p.m.
